The best knife won’t stay sharp for long if used on the wrong surfaces. Wood is a living material and gives way when it is cut – but these cuts close again later. The high-quality beech cutting board from TYROLIT life is ideal for cutting bacon, bread and vegetables with care for the blades. If at work you find that the blade could use some maintenance again, simply grab the integrated ceramic sharpening stone and give your knife the usual sharpness again.

Following the principle of simplification, TYROLIT life has combined two essential areas in one tool – the ideal cutting surface and a reliable helper to re-sharpen knives directly during cutting. This product is available in two sizes.

The application

Remove the sharpening stone from the recess in the cutting board and dampen it under running water. Place the sharpening stone back into the recess with the writing down and pull both sides of the knife blade over the stone several times in the cutting direction. Ensure that you run the entire blade over the stone evenly.

For an optimal sharpening result, hold the blade at a slight angle (15 degrees). Make sure that the blade makes even contact. Finally, clean the knife under running water.
